Article 370 and 35A Removed - 5 August 2019
In a statement in the Rajya Sabha, the Home Minister of India Amit Shah made the House aware of the historic decision that all except one section of Article 370 were removed from Jammu and Kashmir, and Jammu and Kashmir was divided into two parts. : Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh.
Jammu and Kashmir has been granted special state status by Articles 35A and 370 of the Constitution. Discussion was initiated by the Supreme Court to remove or retain this special status.
